3 Ways Of Getting Into Action

1. Knowing what you want and understanding what success means to you is not an exercise that can be accomplished in a few minutes. Most people spend more time planning their two week family vacation than they spend planning out the road to their successful life for themselves and their family. I submit this is a lifetime exercise. This is something that evolves over time and will take on new dimension as time goes on and there is more than just you in your life that you are responsible for.

This is not something for you to wait to do. You should put the time in at any stage of your life that you find yourself. You don’t want to find yourself waking up every day having your day dictate the direction of your life, it’s your life, take control!

2. Don’t go it alone. A task this monumental must require collaboration with the people you are closest to and also advice and guidance from those who are already where you want you and your family to be. In the beginning this advice can come from your family, your parents, your siblings, even your teachers and friends. This is the development of who you are and where you want to be in life. As time goes on, others become influential in this process such as spouses and mentors. A spouse becomes important because you will share this life journey with them. A mentor or in many cases, mentors become important because these people take over where your teachers left off. In any case it is important to realize that you don’t have to go it alone, as a matter of fact you don’t want to go it alone.

Getting guidance in this process brings you to a place you want to be faster by learning from others that you trust, admire and want to emulate, rather than learning through trial and error on your own.

· Someone you know and have trusted for a long time.

· Someone you have met or know about in the profession you are in or want to be in.

· It doesn’t have to be someone alive today, this mentor might be someone you admire from long ago but someone that you have researched and read or learned everything about this mentor.

· It could be someone who is currently doing what you want to in an extraordinary way.

· It might be someone you might want to joint venture with, because they can bring something to the table that is a skill set you don’t have and you can offer a skill set that adds value.

· If the puzzle was a square or a rectangle we would first look for the 4 corner pieces.

· We would then look for the pieces with the straight edges.

· We would then refer back to the picture on the box cover of the puzzle to start putting the puzzle pieces together in a logical order.

· Once we had the 4 corners and all of the straight pieces together, forming a frame, we would then start putting together the pieces that had similar colors and other parts and start duplicating the cover photo in the puzzle pieces.

3. And last but certainly not least, just do it and start NOW! Almost every resource we have can be renewed; money, education, effort, but we have one resource that God has given us that is a non-renewable resource and that’s TIME. It’s a decision. No one can do it for us. When you look at the most successful people in history, they got there after making that decision, they started! No one became a personal success by sitting and waiting for success to find them. They all made the decision to start. None of them had the entire plan laid out before them in the perfect scenario, they just did it and worked out the details as they went along. Is it your time to start? Remember, God gave us this wonderful gift of time, are we using this gift to honor the Giver? Get into action and make the decision to start NOW!
