The True Value of Integrity in Small Business Operations

"Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not" - Oprah Winfrey.

Would you prefer your bank to be either honest about their errors or dishonest? Most of us or least a good fraction would rather have the bank be honest. Then why would someone be dishonest in their business practices and cheat prospects. So, on this note, for those who are new to the world of business.

It is wise to have a strong integrity rather than a large profit margin.

Even though both would be great, but let's face reality, dirty deeds are done all the time and all over the world, and this will shake the prospects confidence. It takes real morals and effort to be transparent, just look at some big names out there. What is the true value of integrity for a small business?

The True Value of Integrity for all Small Business Operators

At some point, there has to be a measure of integrity in the operation of small businesses. This potential climate can either be calm and reassuring or as stormy as the Game of Thrones seasons.

When prospects turn to a particular website, they don't know if they can trust it or not. They are relying on faith that the information presented is factual. Yes, even with social media, a business can get burned badly if it misrepresents an ideal. The ones that do receive a burning make the ones with transparency look like angels. They will tend to gather more business in the long run.

People talk all the time, and your business can either suffer or gain a solid reputation for being outstanding.

Everything that you publish must follow a higher code of ethics, than the next guy or girl. The content cannot be fabricated to misrepresent anything that you claim. The internet trolls will destroy a business over it. It is a valuable asset to create a core code of best practices for everything you do in your business. This will hold you accountable to your actions and efforts.

You do not want to be blacklisted by the search engines or removed from certain social elements. The value adds up in the end of every day, the satisfaction of a job well done and the potential income is always there. There is a lower risk of fraud on your part. In this you can say that you have provided the best of everything with a clean heart and people will know this. People can sense the truth, even if it takes them a while. They will want to deal with someone that has a clean practice rather than those who don't.
