It’s All Good

I had a dream right around the middle of January. That’s funny enough – I had a dream January 15 – LOL.

Anyway in the dream, I and a group of my friends were in an amusement park. It was after hours and the park certainly wasn’t open to the public, but ours was a special gathering and we were there to have fun.

One of my friends, who always seems so tremendously bold in the way she wears her authenticity, was showing me how to shoe surf down the rollercoaster. We were wearing regular shoes, just regular walking shoes, nothing too girly. And we were starting at the very top of the rollercoaster. She showed me how to hold my arms out to my sides for balance just like surfing waves. And the magical thing that happened was when we had the balance thing right a chute track like a toboggan track just grew over the wooden rollercoaster track that had just a moment before been more like a train track. I mean come on if you are shoe surfing a toboggan track’s a much better surface than a train track. And there we were swooshing and gliding and having the best time.

I am in love with the idea of being in the Eagles Nest. That’s one of the highest honors my company offers.

I am writing this in my hotel room the night before a company event. Earlier I was downstairs and I walked past a small group of people without paying much attention to them. The last woman looked up at me and said “Excuse me, are you with SendOutCards?” “Yes”, I replied, “And you?”

“Yes” she said.

“I’m sorry I don’t recognize you, were you here last year?”

“No.”

“Maybe at the convention in August?”

“No, I’m actually very new.”

We introduced ourselves and it was all very pleasant. Then she introduced me to the woman sitting next to her, again very nice. And I had to walk back around her to meet her husband!

Doh!

He ranks #3 in the Company and I’ve admired him from afar for a while. I’ve never been shy, at least not in this lifetime and so of course I’ve introduced myself to him before, but this was one of those golden opportunities we all hear about, especially about why to attend company and industry events.

The real learning that comes in the times before and after the big meeting when you can connect with people who are mastering this game.

For the next hour we all visited and had such a good time. A few of my own Team members joined us and Mr. Big was such a delight, so humble and funny and so genuinely interested in how he could support us.

At one point he was poling my Team members “Are you doing this fulltime?” Every one of us answered “Yes.” And then someone asked him, “Are you doing this full time?” He said “No.” We were all surprised and then he went on to describe how he works. And for him it’s all about balance and fun, and the image of him swooshing down the rollercoaster tracks made me giggle. Does it really get all that easy?

Everything is easy when you’re in love.

David Roth, one of my favorite folk singers has a song about Falling in Love – and what a funny image that is to fall in love, when he always thought it was rising.

Rising in love with your dream – aahhh.

I remember a time when my dream did not energize me. It felt like a dirty, scandalous, embarrassing thing. Because I was sure I didn’t deserve it.

And it has taken me working in this neighborhood of personal development for a while - I was really, really sure I did NOT deserve the good stuff - and today I am really, really sure that my dreams are good and beautiful and attainable.

When I released the sense of unworthiness I saw my dream in a whole new light.

And that’s when I fell in love, head over hills, acting silly and giddy, breaking into grins when I think about it.

And it is all starting to manifest.

January 31 – It’s Official – I AM in the Eagle’s Nest!

The best thing about network marketing for me is learning life skills that have immense value. The skill of being truly present and listening without agenda, and without judgment, which gifts the other person with the all too rare opportunity to show up as how and who they really are. The skill of having fun even when— maybe especially when— working really hard. The skills of Teamwork— not just working as part of a Team— really learning how to follow and support the leader, which turns out to be the very best way to learn how to be a leader. And having this bundle of skills in my toolkit adds up to being magnetically attractive and a whole lot'a fun.

If ever there was a servant leader, it's Maran. "It's all good" is something she lives— whether in the chaotic aftermath of a South Florida hurricane or facing the frustrations of a seething subscriber who can't get into the site. "Take a deep breath", she says, and goes about her business of turning straw into gold.

I've been together with Maran for more than five years now. Tough and high times both. She is a rock. One of those highly polished, swirling blue Lapis lazuli ones with the word Creativity etched in platinum. Maran is all that good! — JMF
