Vision, SEE Your Success

If you start with the thought of where you want to go or what you want to accomplish, it becomes much easier to get there, than just haphazardly hoping you will get to that point.

I was driving down the road in my town a while back and I noticed that there were constriction cones about a ½ mile ahead of me. Once I observed the cones, I moved to the left lane so I wouldn’t be delayed. A few days later, I was in my wife’s car on the same road and the cones were still there. This time I observed that my wife stayed in the right lane and never moved over until we were almost upon the cones. Neither of us crashed into the cones but I thought it was interesting that we had two different visions of

the same road block. This made me think of how people viewed their business in regard to vision.

Some people have enormous vision that they can see down the road and around the corner, while others just see what’s in front of them. This doesn’t make one better than the other, however, vision can bring you to success faster when you develop that keener sense of vision.

Let me explain through some of the thoughts of Stephen Covey. Stephan has said “begin with the end in mind.”

Stephen Covey also said “Live out of your imagination, not your history.” Vision is difficult without imagination. Vision is something that can be developed through practice. Let your imagination allow you to go to where you want to be. Start with the end in mind and work backwards to where you are now. Don’t let your present day reality or your history interfere with where you want to be. Let your vision of where you want to be, be the target to aim for.

Set your goals to aim for that target. Understand the tasks that need to be accomplished and strung together to put you on that path that will get you to your goal.

The vision that is clear in your mind will become a reality if you follow the path of individual steps to make your vision happen.

Aim high!
