Real Learning Requires Action

“Practice is critical to everything we are going to do. This is because the mind understands, but it's the body that learns .”

What if we treated learning as the development of new competence instead of buying into the hogwash so many of us learned in school that learning meant memorization of information? This may be a news flash for some, but simply acquiring and understanding new theories, models, tips and techniques is NOT real learning. A far better goal is to put

that understanding into action!

To do better, feel better, be better, you need to develop a new competence... and that only happens through practice... in other words, action. And yes, practice takes time. Real learning doesn't happen in an instant.

I'm currently involved with a small group of transformation-minded individuals. We are, together, working with Chris Majer's book, The Power to Transform. It's more than a book. In order to get the promise of the book (90 Days to a New You) you must take action on the assignments after each chapter.

Chris makes a statement (many of them actually, but for the sake of brevity I'll focus on just one) that I found very eye-opening.

“Practice is critical to everything we are going to do. This is because the mind understands, but it's the body that learns.” www.TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com 1

I'm just beginning to understand how very true that is. Whether it's learning to drive or learning new practices of leadership, management, and life, only consistent, recurrent action produces competence. Chris also states, “When your commitment to learning trumps your commitment to being afraid, you will learn.”

Consider if you will those people with apparent 'overnight-success'. Regardless of the industry, be it the film industry, the sports industry or the network marketing industry... suddenly there is a name that everyone is talking about. A person who seems to have recently risen to the top. People everywhere are amazed... some even envious. Yet when you take the time to get the back story you discover that this person has consistently and repeatedly taken action in a certain direction. When they didn't get immediate results they didn't stop taking action. They didn't significantly shift the direction of their action... they simply continued to practice. And finally, as their competence solidified, everything else fell into place.

This month at the magazine we're inviting you to consider the power of TAKING ACTION. Here's what I know when it comes to network marketing, the practice we do on our way to gaining competence is not likely to kill us... and in the process we may just enroll a partner or two. But nothing at all is going to change unless and until we take action on a consistent and recurring basis.

So how about this. Make the commitment.

Stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW and go invite someone to take a look at your opportunity.

Have fun, --Mary K ¸..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´* Light EXPECT MIRACLES!

www.TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com 2 The best thing about network marketing for me is that it asks... even encourages... me to seek out people who are willing to explore and share their dreams and vision. It gives me reason to invite people to share— from their heart— early in our relationship. I love this because sharing dreams and clarifying vision puts us together in an energy that feels so

good— so alive. It opens us up to take inspired action, which consistently results in greater and greater levels of success. What a joy sharing this kind of ride with others! — Mary K.

"What I admire most about Mary K. is that she literally and figuratively incarnates one of my most treasured quotes: Dag Hammerskjöld's "To all that has been— Thanks. To all that will be— Yes!" She speaks about the joy of sharing this 'ride' with others. Mary K. IS the joy— to know and to work with." — JMF In addition to editing the articles for TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com, one of the projects Mary K is involved in is contributing to raising vibrations in partnership with TheMagicHappens.com, a magazine setting the tone for thriving in today's chaos and inviting people to embrace Financial Freedom with a Home Business!
