Not saying is worse than saying the wrong thing at times.

A business that doesn't communicate to the consumer base is one that will falter forever. The best practice to open a conversation is to focus solely on one person.

If the marketing has been done right. Creating an opening dialog will be much easier. By focusing on the pains of the ideal prospect the business can offer a unique ice breaker for their audience.

The Ice Breaker and Relationship Building

The opening dialog can be tricky for brand new businesses. The deal breaker always happens at the first public announcement. Keep it short, try a short introduction. These are two different ways to get feet wet.

Avoid promotional messaging at first until some consumer first content is released. Be friendly and offer links to the blog and free resources. Offer content that encourages engagement. Don't be afraid to listen to the channel. This includes the audience and competition.

Relationships are more valuable in an overcrowded market today. It’s so easy to lose a consumer and so hard to gain a new one. This is why so many companies are turning to consumer first marketing.

One would not spam family friends with noise, so don't do it to potential prospects. It makes no sense two different levels of people different from one another.

Becoming like an Italian Restaurant

Italian Restaurants are famous for treating their customers like family. This has turned many onetime customers into die hard visitors. They provide excellent customer service from the get-go and continue all the through the meal.

This model has potential to establish new businesses way ahead of others. Consumer focused marketing has dominated and then eliminated traditional marketing. Businesses can fail in this type of marketing for two reasons. The first is that they focus too much on the bottom line. They want a sustainable income and have lost their way. The other reason is that they can't develop a competitive edge that others can't copy.

Survival of the Champions

To survive one must be a champion. A champion is a leader that develops themselves over and over. They analyze data in order to make their prospects lives better. They focus on helping and developing their audience regardless of profit.

They will reinvest profit into their business, team and personal development. They will take calculated risks on a needed basis. The biggest attribute they have is honesty. They will take credit for their errors and reward others for an outstanding performance.

One can become a champion. Champions are made through effort and willingness to go beyond normal expectations. They will fall but will get back up again. They know the value of success through the pains of loss. They devote themselves to the art of marketing. Their business has been designed to help their prospects and this is why they are Champions in the first place.

There are ways to become a great leader. Keep learning and sharing the experiences that come along the path.
