The Power of Your Why in this Reset; When You Know Your Why You Know Your Way

Welcome to Fall. No matter where you live, the seasons are changing some more dramatically than in other areas., Here in the Midwest, we see cooler temps, shorter days, and changing colors with our trees and bushes. There is also a time of anticipating and looking forward to a hopeful return to family celebrations postponed during the past 18 months.

This is also the start of a new business quarter. No matter how your particular company designates its fiscal year, it is a new start. These reoccurring changes are happening against the backdrop of a world experiencing rapid uncertain change due to the effects of Covid -19 and its variants.

This is a perfect time to first stop, take a breath, and reflect and ask what my Why is?

What is my profound reason, purpose, and why for being in the business I am in? Knowing your Why for any individual or any organization in the public or private sector has been a crucial part of success.

Companies, network marketers, and direct sellers who stayed true to their purpose "pivoted to " provide goods and services to their employees and customers. In challenging times having clarity of your Why will make hard times endurable.

Dr. Victor Frankl was in a Nazi concentration camp for three years, losing his entire family. He wrote in Man's Search for Meaning that "When you know you're Why you can endure anyhow."The ability to weather these times and even prosper is to know our Why.

We are entering a continued change post-pandemic period of Reset, not a return to pre-March 13,2020. Pope Francis put it well in His December 2020 book Let Us Dream; The Path to A Better Future "If you survive the pandemic, you will be either better or worse, you will not be the same."

Network marketers and direct sellers, as well as every organization, are facing rapid uncertain change. In these times, those with a clarity of Why will grow their businesses. Author Michael Hyatt often writes that "If you know your Why, you'll know your way

Many leadership consulting firms have noted in their recent studies of this time of Reset that leaders more than ever have to focus on their Purpose their Why to lead.

This need to know and lead in your Why is crucial for network marketers and direct sellers. they must lead themselves first and may also have a sales team to lead.

Knowing your Why provides a commitment and a vision for moving forward in your business and life. Knowing your Why provides focus and motivation.

Clarity of the Why also attracts customers and followers, possibly even new team members. The network marketer or direct seller who is clear about their Why and works their business in that Why becomes a magnet to attract followers and customers.

People don't buy what you sell. They buy Why you sell it.' Simon Sinek

How then can you refocus or clarify your Why as a network marketer, the direct seller? Simon Sinek in Find Your Why provides a simple yet profound exercise to start the process to refocus and gain clarity on your Why.

The first step is to take a timeout! Find a quiet time and space. Reflect on your experiences, beliefs, world view, and passions to make a difference in your business and your life.

Secondly, complete the Why statement below,

My Why Is To _( my activity/activities )______________________

So That __( my contributions)_________________________

Third, Seek out a colleague, fellow network marketer /direct salesperson, or a coach to work with who shares your commitment to focus and clarity about your Why. The vital characteristic of your reviewer is that they will care for you enough to be brutally honest.

Share and review your Why statement with them for clarity and honesty. You may end up rewriting it until you feel good about it and Your colleague or a coach agrees this is you.

Review it daily for a week and meet with your colleague or a coach again to review the process and refine your statement as needed.

Fourth, Post your Why statement in a visible place to see every day and let it be your guide for all you do in the practice of your business and life. Commit to practicing your why and giving yourself the grace to make mistakes.

My Why Is To coach, speak, train, and write for leaders So That I can equip and add value to leaders who will add value to all the lead and serve and beyond.

Using your Why to guide your network marketing/direct sales business and your life is a journey. Take time to reflect, learn and grow and enjoy the journey. You will enjoy the journey and attract like-minded people to support and enhance your trip. Above all, you will impact all those you touch as you are walking in purpose
