To Give and Receive

We can't really talk about giving without including receiving – they really are two sides of one coin. The two are truly inseparable and we are well advised to remember that. We have received many messages about 'giving' and for many of us, myself included,

the strongest one received as a very young child was “It's better to give than to receive”. So I committed myself to G I V I N G.

I gave my thoughts... though nobody asked.

I gave my time to help... though nobody told me what would help most.

I gave my food... though no one said they were hungry.

I gave my stuff... only to discover it wasn't wanted.

I gave my solution to a “problem” that didn't exist.

I gave 'space' when attention was desired.

I gave attention when space was needed.

Until finally...

I... gave... up!

What was I doing wrong? The harder I tried to give the more miserable I became and the more I irritated those around me. Not only that but I became a really lousy receiver.

I don't remember a specific epiphany... yet somewhere along the line

I came to realize that for every 'giver' there must be a receiver and for every 'receiver' there must be a giver.

It's a balance thing, and they must also be equal in importance if they are to balance one another. Because while giving can feel wonderful and fulfilling... when you want to give but the other isn't willing or interested in receiving it feels terrible!

Keep this in mind as you go about your business and life...

The most authentic giving comes out of being fully present, listening to those around you and allowing yourself to receive the inspiration that will guide you to connecting them with what they need and want.

Give people the opportunity to tell you what they want and then check in with yourself to see if you have that to give. If so, give that!

As you give your attention to listening for peoples desires with a willingness to receive their message, you cultivate a network of people with different desires and talents. This gives you even more to give as you connect those with the resources to those with the need.

Giving to people willing to receive what you have to offer is the best kind of giving of all.

All of us in the Network Marketing industry have wonderful products, services and business opportunities to offer. We know their power to change lives. Just remember that not everyone truly wants their life to change. Yet there are millions who do... so give to those who are searching and then get ready to receive!
