Are you PLAYING to WIN? or Playing Not to Lose?
Hi everyone! In this episode of Think and Grow Rich with Shane Moran, I have a question for you. Are you playing to win? Or are you playing not to lose?
Have you heard about this before? You know, it's like saying is the glass half full or is it half empty?
Well, then again that depends on how you look at it and one of them is going to serve you a whole lot better especially in every area of your life. But especially in network marketing.
In our last episode, we talked about attitude and how vital it is to have an amazing p.m.a. or a positive mental attitude to your success, not just in your business, but in every area of your life.
If you haven't seen that episode, I would highly recommend that you go back to the January 2022 issue of www.TheNetworkMarketingMagazine.com and watch that one and do it as soon as possible.
In many ways playing to win or playing, not to lose, that question is also very vital to your success in every aspect of your network marketing enterprise.
Today I'm going to give you some examples so that you can take the ball and you can run with it as fast as you can. Let's look at a couple of examples.
Are you playing to win? Or are you playing not to lose? Well, let's talk prospecting. If you're going out there talking to your prospect and in your mind, you're thinking, geez. I hope that they're going to say yes, you're not playing to win. You're playing not to lose.
I hope they like me even after the presentation. These are examples of you playing not to lose but here's what I do when I'm presenting or I'm prospecting. I don't care if they say yes or no, but what I'm thinking about is how the product or service is going to be a massive benefit to the prospect.
So I'm focused on the product or service and how trying to communicate to them that this product or this service is going to improve something about their life or something about them, their health, or whatever.
I hope you get the idea because everyone has different products and services, but I want you to get the concept.
If you have a product or service that you can sample, then playing to win is knowing that when you sample, you'll say, you're going to love it. I am investing in the sample because I know you're going to love it. Try the sample. If you like it. Let me know. And then I can show you how to get more.
Again, let's get back to presenting because this is a big one. If you're not presenting, then you're not taking advantage of an effective part of your business. There is no sane logical conclusion, for them to do anything if you're offering a sample of your product other than say, yes. I want to at least try the product. I want to try the service or even better. I want to get started in this opportunity. So what you want to do is you want to focus when you're presenting or when you're prospecting on how your product or service is going to allow them to win.
Maybe they may not like me, or they might not like the presentation, or jeez. I wonder if they're going to get started. This is playing not to lose. All right, when you're signing up a new customer, for example, when you're signing up a new distributor, it's the same thing. Once when my customer says yes to the product or service. The first thing I say is, that is the most intelligent thing you're doing.
Playing to win playing for when you're signing up a new distributor that means they want to lock arms with you. That's when the hard work starts. So when you're playing to win, you're going to take them by the hand and teach them step by step, all the steps that have caused you to become successful. You want to pass that knowledge on. That's playing to win right. You don't want to keep information back from them because they might grow faster than you.
That's playing not to lose and you will lose every time playing not to lose. I hope this makes sense.
Signing someone up into the business is one thing by not helping them to get started properly, you're playing not to lose when you hope that they figure it out themselves and go on and start talking to someone else. Playing to win, is that when you get a brand new person started, it might take you a lot of effort. If you don't teach them how to get started properly, you've just thrown that all out the window.
When you're mentoring a brand-new person, when you're mentoring, your team, Mentor them to win, you want to make sure that everything you do, you're duplicating the process, keep it simple. And again, here's the question. Are you playing to win? Are you playing not to lose? And here's my best advice for you. As we wrap up this Edition practice!
Just practice playing to win until it becomes a habit. You got to practice playing to win. You've got to practice on purpose, playing to win everything you do. Like I mentioned from prospecting to sampling. If you can present things, play to win, sign up, a new customer play to win signing up new Distributors play to win, help them, get started, play to win. Mentoring them to grow a big business, play to win, and then duplicate this process, show them, all the steps that you have taken that have caused your success, you want to pass on all the things that have not been so successful. You want to keep that a secret and don't tell them but when, when you've got a winning strategy pass it on. So again practice, practice, practice playing to win until it becomes a habit, and you're just going to have a fun time. And here's how, you know, when you wake up in the morning. You can't wait to get started. You can't wait to go prospecting.
Presentations? Why? Because you're playing to win. So that's all I have for you on this episode of Think and Grow Rich with Shane Morand. We'll see you next time. Bye for now.
