Therefore it is an obvious conclusion that crystallizing your thinking and converting your dreams into goals and then actually writing down those goals is vital to them ever becoming a reality.
There are seven distinct goal areas: Spiritual, Family, Mental/Emotional, Business/Career, Social, Financial, and Health.
- Watch the travel channel and see some of the beautiful places around the world to see if that will stimulate any of your desires to travel.
- Stop by a few of the local automobile dealerships and stroll through the showroom looking at some of the different types of new vehicles on the market, take a few for a test drive. Maybe you will decide that you would like to have an SUV with a DVD player in the back for the children or the grand kids.
- Attend an RV show or visit the nearest RV dealership.
- Take a day and go to the nearest upscale shopping mall and pretend that you had one hundred thousand dollars to exchange for merchandise that day, what would you purchase? A new wardrobe? New furniture for your home? New appliances for your kitchen? Pick up copies of their product brochures or catalogs. Make a note of the prices.
- Stop by the electronics store and look at digital cameras, mini DV movie cameras, new DVD Player/Recorders, surround sound stereo equipment, plasma televisions, new desk top computers with all the bells and whistles. A new laptop for when you are travelling.
- For your health goals visit your local health and fitness clubs and check into gym membership or look at equipment that you could purchase to work out at home. Read about the dangers of high fructose corn syrup, aspartame and MSG and eliminate them (or anything that contains them) from your diet.
- For your family goals , make a list of things that the family could all do together. Perhaps a family vacation or a family reunion with all the relatives at a nice beach resort of a mountain retreat.
- For your spiritual goals , if you do not already have a "church family" then visit some local houses of worship that are compatible with your faith and meet the Pastor or Rabbi and find out what they have to offer in terms of services, youth activities if you have children, social events and adult education for your spiritual growth. "I would that ye should prosper insomuch as your soul prospers also."
- For your mental goals make a list of books you would like to read, seminars you would like to attend and audio or DVD training seminars you would like to purchase.
