Expect Miracles - Get Started... HOW? Now!

My point here is that 'Getting Started', while crucial... simply isn't enough.

I remember my very first experience with network marketing many years ago. The excitement and wonder of the concept along with the beauty and effectiveness of the product fueled an enthusiasm in me that led me to sponsoring 4 people willing to join with a $1000 purchase in my first thirty days! What a great start!

And the next month… zip.

What do I do now? You see, I got started immediately, in fact… before I knew what I was doing. I excitedly talked to everyone I knew and four of those people got infected by my enthusiasm and climbed onboard but now there were five of us who didn't know what we were doing!

I had an upline sponsor who was also brand new and didn't know what he was doing and his sponsor had been in the business for a couple of years but really didn't have an active growing business… I don't think he knew what to do with us.

My point here is that 'Getting Started', while crucial… simply isn't enough.

And it was with a critical eye that I perused the articles that were crossing my desk this month because I know from my own experience that just being able to "get started" isn't enough… in fact, getting started well isn't even enough.

It's valuable to realize that it's important to approach network marketing one day at a time… and getting started with CLARITY and SPECIFICITY has to happen each day that you are working your business… otherwise you don't have a business!

Now the question becomes, 'What are the clear and specific things I need to start doing?' It's well worth asking and answering!!!

Your company leadership is likely to provide a path of actions you can take to begin building your business. Often this begins with some form of making a warm contact list…and developing a plan for letting people know you're in business. This is all part of the outer game.

At the same time I highly recommend you get started on the inner game as well. Keep in mind that there is great truth in the statement that your business will grow as you do. You are virtually guaranteed to bump into some limiting beliefs that will hold you back and hamper your success. Unless you meet those head-on by doing the necessary inner work, you're likely to find yourself spinning your wheels and coming to a standstill.

So look to those you respect and admire to recommend courses, books, and articles that support your personal growth and development while listening to the successful leaders in your company as well as in the industry for guidance about the specific actions to take that will support your business success.

A few of my recommendations for getting started are:

• Read some books – starting with Richard Brookes Mach ll With

Your Hair on Fire! to hone your vision.

• Take a course like http://www.BeliefBusters.com to shatter self-

sabotaging beliefs and shift them to empowering beliefs.

• Celebrate the Grand Opening of your new business and let

everyone you know about your products.

• Make a commitment to meet a specific number of new people

each week. It can be three, or five, or fifty… but set a target and aim for it. You can do this locally or online in a variety of ways. Join groups and participate in community online and offline. A wonderful online community specifically for network marketers can be found at http://www.Ojeez.com (You can find me here: http://www.ojeez.com/MaryK ) and don't forget to search for communities specific to your personal interests. People who share your interests often share your values and make great business partners so why not seek out more friends that might also be interested in your business opportunity? Offline you might consider joining your local Chamber of Commerce or any business networking group.

• Use your product… Use your product… Use your product!

A good balance between the outer and inner game will ensure that once you've started… you will have what it takes to keep going!

Well what are you doing… go GET STARTED!!!!

The best thing about network marketing for me is that it asks... even encourages... me to seek out people who are willing to explore and share their dreams and vision. It gives me reason to invite people to share— from their heart— early in our relationship.

I love this because sharing dreams and clarifying vision puts us together in an energy that feels so good— so alive. It opens us up to take inspired action, which consistently results in greater and greater levels of success. What a joy sharing this kind of ride with others!

"What I admire most about Mary K. is that she literally and figuratively incarnates one of my most treasured quotes: Dag Hammerskjöld's "To all that has been— Thanks. To all that will be— Yes!" She speaks about the joy of sharing this 'ride' with others. Mary K. IS the joy— to know and to work with." — JMF One of the projects Mary K is involved in is partnering on a series of 30 Day Marketing Experiments.
